"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."
Luca: We arrived home from the shops with straws and paper plates. He set about sticking and cutting then surprised me with a pipe instrument. Minutes later, he went into a drawing frenzy inspired by images of underwater volcanoes and layers of rock beneath the Earth's surface.
Kian: OOOOOooooooo, says the cow. His favourite farm animals. Luckily, we pass several cows and their calves on the way to our food co-op each week, and sometimes stop the car for a pat.
If you missed it, I made herby pork and parmesan patties this week. My two love them.

Beautiful captures of your boys Vanessa. So deep in thought, what wonderful creativity and your little Kian, totally adorable saying moo. x
ReplyDeleteHe won't say moo yet, still at the oooo stage. A bit like mama... I've heard him say it a few times but he'd rather just call me dada. He calls most things dada actually! x
DeleteI meant to say his cute little way of saying moo:) Oops.xx
DeleteSweet pics and sweet blog.

I love that concentration.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love stopping for cows too...although we don't see them too often around these parts!
Moooo! Two very beautiful portraits this week Vanessa, your boys are delightful.
ReplyDeleteI am really loving the 'storytelling' shots of the everyday moments, rather than the more posed shots that I seem to manage each week. These are really lovely. I can't help but think that we all need to capture our children creating more often. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Bron. Yes I love anything that tells a story: food, pictures...
DeleteLuca is a storyteller through pictures. Do you have a massive amount of artwork floating around the house? Imp draws every day and it is never just one picture. I'm trying so hard to keep all of them but I could nearly wallpaper the house with the amount of artwork she has created.
ReplyDeleteYes i do! Folders and folders of the stuff. I can part with some but trouble is so much of his work blows us away. It makes me very happy that he's able to express himself so creatively and so freely. And yes i could probably wallpaper all the houses on our street!
DeleteThe kiddo is the same! I am currently keeping them in folders marked by season and year. the culling process is a bit stressful :/
DeleteSweet captures! My guy has just started to really show interest in drawing and I'm so excited! Had me worried for a while. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that cow play capture :)
